In a few days, Jane and I are heading back to Bali.No big itinerary and no list of must-see places. Just a few weeks based mostly in Sanur, a couple of days in Ubud, and plenty of time to grab the camera and see where the day takes us. In this episode, I talk about why Bali remains one of my favourite places to photograph, the everyday moments that catch my eye, and a small photographic story I'll be looking for while I'm there. In a few days I'll be back in Bali. On the 3rd of October we fly out for a few weeks, spending most of our time in Sunua with a couple of days in Norwood.
I've been to Bali enough times to know there's no great list of things I need to see. That's actually one of the things I'm looking forward to the most. I can get up in the morning, grab the camera and head out without worrying and about where I'm supposed to be next. And that's generally when I enjoy photographing the most.
Bali has always been a place where I can walk for hours with a camera with Jane, not because something spectacular is happening or on every counter, but because everyday life is happening everywhere. Someone opening a war room in the morning, offerings being placed outside a doorway, kids heading off to school, conversation on the side of the road, something sitting quietly watching the world go past. They're the photographs I tend to notice. I'll be carrying the Sony most days and adding photographs to the Bali 2026 gallery.
And there'll be street photographs, portraits, detail, Well, everything that I'll see and do are there. But this time I'm going with a little mission. And that is to find the small coffee shops on the side streets or gangs or wherever I find them the ones that are owned by a husband and wife and they need to have their little story told So stay tuned for those. They will be mainly articles. and over on pgeorge.com.au there's a full article on what we're going to be doing in Bali and you can also jump on the gallery there as I upload images and if you're listening to this and I'm back, there'll be more galleries.
That's the beauty of what I'm going to do from here on in. So thanks for listening for this couple of minutes, just to let you know what's happening as of Saturday. Jane and I will be flying off now, first time flying out of Koolongatta, so that's got to be a lot of fun. So stay tuned and make sure that you subscribe to the podcast on whatever platform you're on, but to stay in touch, head over to PeteGeorge.com.au and fill in one of the email subscriptions. I won't spam you, bombard you and all that kind of stuff.
But I will let you know when something good has happened. So thanks for listening and as I always say, see with purpose and share with heart.
